Purim is a Story, Parades, Parties, and Hamantaschen
Purim is a late Winter or early Spring holiday in the Northern Hemisphere. It's full of child oriented activity, parties for both kids and grownups, noise,. At synagogue we read the scroll of Esther but also indulge in plays and often musical theatre as the story is (to at least some degree) reenacted. Afterwards there are parties! And hamantaschen (a fruit, nut, or poppy seed filled cookie or pastry)!
This year, I created a new design for greeting cards, invitations, return address labels, a cookies server (cutting board), and other useful items. I started by using watercolors to paint several hamantaschen cookies arranged into a 6-pointed star. Then I manipulated a scan of it to create a variation twisted at a jaunty angle. Both of these now feature in several of my latest Purim collection in my Zazzle shop.
